A reseller account gives you a pool of disk and bandwidth, and WHM - Web Host Manager - to divide it up among your own customers. Each customer gets a normal cPanel account and never sees us.

Your first session, in order:

  1. Log in to WHM at yourdomain.com/whm using the details in your welcome email.
  2. Set up your private nameservers so customers point their domains at ns1.yourdomain.com rather than ours. There is a separate article on this.
  3. Brand cPanel - your logo, your colours, your support link. Under Customization.
  4. Create your packages before you have customers, not while one is waiting.
  5. Set your contact address so server notifications reach you and not a dead inbox.

What you are responsible for: your customers, their support, their billing, and how you divide the resources. What we are responsible for: the server, its uptime, its security patching, the network, and backups at the server level.

You cannot exceed your total allocation - if you sell five accounts of 20 GB each on a 50 GB plan, you will run out. Overselling is a legitimate business model, but it means watching actual usage rather than what you sold on paper.
