A reseller account gives you a pool of disk and bandwidth, and WHM - Web Host Manager - to divide it up among your own customers. Each customer gets a normal cPanel account and never sees us.
Your first session, in order:
- Log in to WHM at yourdomain.com/whm using the details in your welcome email.
- Set up your private nameservers so customers point their domains at ns1.yourdomain.com rather than ours. There is a separate article on this.
- Brand cPanel - your logo, your colours, your support link. Under Customization.
- Create your packages before you have customers, not while one is waiting.
- Set your contact address so server notifications reach you and not a dead inbox.
What you are responsible for: your customers, their support, their billing, and how you divide the resources. What we are responsible for: the server, its uptime, its security patching, the network, and backups at the server level.
You cannot exceed your total allocation - if you sell five accounts of 20 GB each on a 50 GB plan, you will run out. Overselling is a legitimate business model, but it means watching actual usage rather than what you sold on paper.
